Sharing – Coping Covid-19

As the Covid-19 news goes all over, probably you have gotten tons of messages, e-mails and notifications.

So we don’t send you anything on the top for now but share the NSHA info sheet that covers things very well.

Other than the general hygiene and self-isolation protocol, the rest is all what we have always been talking about – eat well, manage stress, enhance the joy of life and connect with people.

Great reminder for us that it is the time to show more consideration to others who may be having a harder time by isolation. Also it is perfectly okay to cut back your time for SNS interactions if it helps you.

Reduce the Risk of Contamination

Because we have been working with fermentation, we are quite familiar with how the microorganisms work.

There are billions of microorganisms, including viruses, everywhere – in the air, on the table, on the clothes, our hands and guts, etc.
That’s why when we make Koji, we clean the work surface with rubbing alcohol. We want a certain ‘good’ bacteria to take over the rice (medium). The sterilization reduce the competitors (‘bad’ or unwanted microorganisms) first and we add the large volume of wanted microorganism(s) (culture).

Our body is the medium for the Covid-19. Your washing hands, cleaning the door knobs and isolating yourself from a crowd are all to reduce the number of unwanted virus, particularly Covid-19, to come into your body.

Take Care of Yourself

However the sterilization kills both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ ones.
In our controlled fermentation, we use the culture to give the dominance of the ‘good’ microorganisms, but in Covid-19’s case there’s no such a silver bullet existing yet.

So it becomes very important to maintain, if not improve, your general health. The extra sanitizing is the ‘indiscriminate murder’ to the all microorganisms, good or bad. Because we are killing them, we should support the good ones providing the ideal conditions for them to survive and thrive. The healthy lifestyle supports their quick recovery.

In other words, ‘Take Care of Yourself’.
Surprisingly (LOL) it is our business concept and mission.
Our business name ‘Ordinary Family Food & Life’ indicates:

  • Ordinary – anyone, we
  • Family – connect with others and treat them as your loved family
  • Food – eat well and enjoy eating
  • Life – have the ownership of your own life, enjoy it

So… the NSHA poster covers all we want to say!

Because This is a Challenging Time…

We are all different.
And you should know yourself the best.

Connecting online can become a big help or stress, depending on your personality and situation.

We hope you listen to yourself, learn about yourself more and make yourself happier.
Your being positive and healthy does a lot to others.

We needed to cancel the events we were planning this spring due to the situation.
Although we are hoping the food supply and distribution go as usual when our next sale comes, we are preparing for the worse scenario as well.

With this limitation, how can we connect more positively and stay healthy as possible… It’s a real challenge but we just do our best.
We hope we can work altogether and make this crisis a true paradigm shifting experience.
