Ordinary Family Food & Life is truly completed by covering both ‘food’ and ‘life’. Food is not our only focus. More accurately, food is just a means to think of our life. Our company’s mission is not to promote particular foods but various experiences that enrich your life.
My name is Yuki. I am the founder of this company and writer of this blog. To start this business, I thought through a lot, literally about my entire life.
I used to be a capable employee both in Japan and here, Canada. Regardless my language and cultural limitation, with my creativity and organization skill, I ended up becoming a reliable assistant for my bosses wherever I went. As far as my boss told me what he or she wanted, I made it happen.
Working for someone else is simple. If he wants to increase the profit, I seek more profitable and cost effective solutions. If she wants to improve the management system, I look for the most suitable structure for her. Goals are already set by someone else and I work according to my job descriptions.
But, if it is my own business, nobody tells me what I am supposed to do. I have to tell myself what I, the boss, want. Not so long after I decided to start my own business, I realized that the first thing I have to do is to find why I want to run my own rather than working for someone else.
And I found the answer.
I am a woman. I am a consumer. I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a daughter. I am a Japanese. I am a poet. I am a singer. I am a human being with 43 years of life experiences.
I am me, not like anyone else, and just like everyone else. I am unique and ordinary.
I can share what nobody else but I have. I can share what everyone else has like me. That is ’life’. Utilizing my life experience, organization skill and cultural advantage, I want to create a structure that goes beyond people’s expectation and enlarges their perspective. I want to produce an exciting show. I set the stage and pull the excitement out of the audience, just in a business format instead of a theatre or live music club.
Here I would like to replace ‘business’ to ‘life’ and ‘work’ to ‘live’ in the sentences I have written.
“Living for someone else is simple. If he wants to increase the profit, I seek more profitable and cost effective solutions. If she wants to improve the management system, I look for the most suitable structure for her. Goals are already set by someone else and I live according to my job descriptions.
But, if it is my own life, nobody tells me what I am supposed to do. I have to tell myself what I, the boss, want. Not so long after I decided to start my own life, I realized that the first thing I have to do is to find why I want to run my own rather than living for someone else”.
This blog is to discuss about why I, and you, choose its own life instead of following someone else’s decisions and how. I don’t think what I talk about here are anything extraordinary but all universal, common subjects.
I personally do not worship any religions or philosophers even though I respect all.
I don’t want to be worshiped, either.
I know my English is rather awkward than natural, but I intentionally write with my own words. We often see something interesting in the imperfection. I consider this is my advantage that I don’t have ‘perfect’ English.
I hope you have as much fun as I do!
