The Moment To Be Proud Of My Home

I have been volunteering at an organic farm. I deliver their CSA baskets to a pickup station once a week. I drop off the full baskets and pickup empty ones in exchange.

One day, I found a bundle of plastic clamshell containers and a bunch of rubber bands in a basket. They were clean, neat and tidy.

Some people laugh about salvaging small things like rubber bands. They will say it’s cheaper to buy a new box rather than collecting the old ones.

The farm may not be saving a lot of money out of reused rubber bands. But still I am very happy to see people care about small things. And the farm reuses them without wasting. Things go around in a small, cozy cycle.

Such a little thing makes me proud of my home. I feel the quiet but warm and supportive connection between people. There are people to give and people to receive with gratitude. They exchange something more than just material. I don’t want people to forget about it.
