With a bit of practice, you can make this simple yet fancy dish!
4 servings (8 rolles)
Ingredients :
- 8 sheets Rice paper
- 2 cups salad green
- 2 cups other vegetable (s) such as carrot, cucumbers, avocado, pepper, radish, etc. cut into thin sticks as needed
- Optional – switch some vegetables with:
- fine rice noodle, soaked in hot water and riced with cold water
- cooked meat (chicken, ham, roast beef, etc)
- smoked salmon
- cooked shrimp
- cream cheese
Sauce (2 kinds)
Regular
- 1 tsp Maple syrup
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- Optional 1 a few dash of fish sauce
- Optional 2 1 tbsp roasted peanuts, finely chopped
Mustard Pickle
- 1/4 cup Mustard pickle (mince chunk if necessary)
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oil (sunflower, grape seed, sesame seed, etc)
- 2 tbsp hemp hearts
*1 cup = 250ml
How to make salad roll:
1. Mix the sauce ingredients. Taste and add more of each ingredients as needed.
2. In a container with large, flat bottom, set water (1~2″ deep). Dip a rice paper for 10 seconds (take it out when it is still fairly firm).
3. Take the rice paper out of water and spread on a flat surface (wooden surface is the best).
Place 1/8 of each filling ingredients on the sheet.
4. Roll from the end close to you. Tack the both end in between and finish rolling. Repeat for 7 more rolls.
5. Serve with the desired sauce. Enjoy!
