International Women’s Day

Today, March 8th, 2016, is International Women’s Day.

I didn’t know it but I was informed with a nice surprise.

After I did the regular volunteer work at my son’s school in the morning, I went grocery shopping. At the casher, they gave me a slip for a draw and even a stem of flower. How sweet it was!

I was very impressed how they set it up.

To be honest, I hadn’t had a very good image of that particular national wide supermarket chain for years. I had quite a few bad experience with their stores in Calgary.

Since I moved here, however, it’s like a totally different store! Their service is great and products are consistently taken care. I am quite pleased with this particular store in our town.

I used to think this supermarket chain top management must be not good. Maybe it’s been changing. Maybe just this store. I don’t know but it opens up my mind. Things may not be so discouraging as I assume.

Anyway it was such a wonderful gift to start the day.

Just a little recognition makes people very happy. It made me happy. Not only that, it reminded me to pay a bit more attention to those who are quietly working hard around me.

You contribute to the world so much in many ways.

And, yes, I do know how women contribute to this world as well as men, just in a different way.

As one of the women, I thank for the world’s recognition.

And I would like to recognize the non-women as well because you are important, too!
